Re: cAP ac as Home Router? [SOLVED]

I'm using several Cap acs for similar stuff and don't have any issues with the workloads. Wifi will limit maximal throughput anyway.

Re: v7.2 is released!

@Ullinator: I think he meant to buy available cap ac's - also Getic/EuroDK does not have cap ac's in stock, but expects them in mid-June.

Re: v6.49.3 [stable] is released!

I perfectly agree! High value customers are assigned a key accountant and get fast-tracked in support and development. Low prio customers meet in support forum. But, there is an easy solution for your BGP issue - become an important customer. Buy 5000 RB4011 (as these still run v6), promise to buy a...

Re: v6.49.3 [stable] is released!

I'm sure Mikrotik's Support has a very clear impression how the situation is currently seen from customers.... If you have only a limited developer team, why spend half of the development power on both v6 and v7 development - risking nothing gets really done. Put all on v7 and accept bumps in the ro...

Re: v6.49.3 [stable] is released!

Well, Mikrotik sold already last year devices (e.g. RB5009) that come from factory with v7. (Back then v7 was even still officially beta and v6 won't work on RB5009).

So v7 is already in production environments...

Nice to see that such a fossil still gets updates!

Just a pity that the hardware is so outdated that I have no clue what to do today with such old hardware...

Re: v6.49.3 [stable] is released!

I expect the change to be slow and a long time will be given before ending development and / or maintenance of v6 branch. I think v6 is already abandoned. I guess there will be 1-3 more updates to current v7.1 "stable" branch, then that will probably become "long term" and v6 re...

Re: v6.48.6 [long-term] is released!

So I upgraded from 6.48.5 to 6.48.6 today.

Reading this thread I expected issues with my PPP connection, however it works fine after the upgrade.

I love boring updates where all keeps just working as it should!!

Re: v7.1 is released!

I think v7.1.1 and 7.2(testing) and 6.50(testing) are gonna be fun changelogs to read once they arrive. Given that flood of issues (and there are certainly many, many more behind the scenes not seen in the forum, I guess it would be easiest to state a blank "various bugfixes" in the chang...

Re: SwOS version 2.13 released!

I upgraded my CSS106-5G-1S (RB260GS) to SwOS 2.13 right when it came out without any issues. I'm using it as a stupid switch without any bells and whistles, so entirely stock configuration. Today the switch worked, then hang and didn't route anything. It didn't respond over network, a power cycle wa...

Re: SwOS version 2.13 released!

Upgrading my RB260GS (CSS106-5G-1S) went fine (from 2.12 and using Upgrade tab in SwOS).

My MTU is 1480 and I don't have any issues.
I also have IPv6 enabled.
What exactly are you using?

Re: Netflix not loading

Hi,

I'm using Netflix with a Miktrotik router without any issues.

When all other websites work on your device properly, it is apparently a Netflix-only issue. Try to use a different browser (e.g. Firefox) in this case.

I hope that helps, Hannes

Possible to disable "disconnected, extensive data loss" ?

Dear all, I have a device that shall have access to the internal network (being connected by WLan), but no access to the WAN (Internet). Therefore, I added a firewall roule for the device's Mac adress that prevents forwarding its packets to WAN - which works nicely. However, now this device gets dro...

That's cool - many thanks for your reply and the links!

So I misunderstood the term "Passive PoE" then!

Re: Clients unable to connect to Wifi managed by Capsman

And suprise - all works now!

Why?

Apparently changing the configuration takes a long, long time to transverse my network (although it's small) and get fully applied in the AP.

A lot longer than clicking apply/ok and doing a test a few moments later.

Re: Clients unable to connect to Wifi managed by Capsman

I just changed in the CAP settings of the AP the discovery interface from "bridge" to ethernet1 - now the wifi clients don't see even the SSID of the capsman managed wlan provided by the AP anymore (but in capsman now the IP of the AP is shown in remote Cap tab instead of its MAC only).

Clients unable to connect to Wifi managed by Capsman

I'm new to RouterOS and love its capabilities - but for the heck I don't find the reason why this won't work (anymore). I would love to hear any input on my issue! Strangely all worked perfectly until the FireTV-stick couldn't connect anymore to the Capsman managed 5Ghz Wifi and during my attempts t...

Re: Connect non-PoE to Passive PoE output of cap ac?

My impression has solidified that the 2nd ethernet port of the cap ac is mostly intended for daisy-chaining other caps - which makes perfect sense - but not for other non-PoE gear.

This should be clearly mentioned in the user manual!

Connect non-PoE to Passive PoE output of cap ac?

Dear all, although it was planned differently, it might happen that I can use only one ethernet cable to connect all appliances of one room to the network. The gear is partly PoE and non-PoE capable. This means I would have one ethernet cat7 cable coming from an externally located, PoE capable route...
