Re: v6.49.12 [stable] is released!

But then ... we all agree that MT's way of naming chains doesn't correlate much with what most of users expect ... and the lack of decision making is obvious as well. Like: is development of v6 officially terminated or not? If yes, then only security fixes should be done and (after due testing) pus...

Re: RB1100AHx4 sfp upgrade [SOLVED]

Thank you very much.
Probably I wasn't so good in my description. My ISP brought me an SFP that now is plugged into the modem/router, the same modem previusly was doing VDSL2+.
I'd like to get rid of it, I don't think I'll get more than 1GB anytime soon.

Re: RB1100AHx4 sfp upgrade [SOLVED]

Thank you for your answer, max speed is about 970MB/1GB (got it only once). I tried both before bridging the mode, more or less the same speed with or without MT router.
I knew RB1100 has also NAS capabilities, I have a 512GB SD plugged in, but I already have a Synology drive as a NAS.

RB1100AHx4 sfp upgrade [SOLVED]

Hi all, My ISP switched my line to FTTH. I have been using ISP modem router in Bridge mode, leaving all the tough things to a RB1100AHx4 (firewall, openvpn, dhcp). I was thinking about replacing both RB1100 and Modem with a L009, which has an SFP port. I have already compared the two MT devices, and...

Re: Connecting mAP lite to a switch

I am not an expert, but you should first detect what is in charge of releasing the IP for your network (probably the ISP modem). Then you can configure mAP lite, probably as a Bridge AP, using quick configure. My network is almost the same as yours, and that’s what I did.

Re: WPA3 in September?

So I'm gonna need it by then I assume. I'm not an Apple user, but many iPhones, iPad, Macbook and iWatches do connect to the MT AP's. So I'm curious on the "need" to have it. Never had any problem in years. Three different iPads of different generations, iPhones for the whole family (olde...

Welcome to the club :) Quick fix is downgrading, sorry. I had to do the same, so waiting for 7.x.x version, which works.
I’ll keep 6.48.6, thanks for sharing.

@han I have also upgraded all my home equipment without any issue. I first upgraded mAP lite and waited for a couple of days, then RB1100, CRS112 and Hap. No issues!

Hi umam83, I have almost the same configuration, which is basically a cut and paste from the old wiki/new spaces: /ip firewall address-list add address=192.168.0.2-192.168.0.254 list=allowed_to_router add address=0.0.0.0/8 comment=RFC6890 list=not_in_internet add address=172.16.0.0/12 comment=RFC689...

Re: CRS112-8P-4S-IN - To Buy or Not to Buy (in 2021)

I wanted to simplify my home network, and this switch was the only one with POE and rack mount (affordable), so it was almost the only choice for me. It has limited memory and CPU, and power consumption depends on what you will attach it to, but I think it’s a good compromise. Would I buy it in 2021...

As other said , IP Firewalll connections page is very helpful, at least for a simple insight. Is something I didn’t find in any of my previous, ‘prosumer’ modem router.

I have RB1100AHx4 with OpenVPN and didn’t notice any drop. Mine is a simple home configuration though. What VPN protocol are you using?

Upgraded my devices, RB1100AHx4, CRS112-8P and mAP lite, while HapAC3 doesn’t find any update. mAP lite shows an increase in memory usage:

OpenVPN Access - Can only reach the gateway [SOLVED]

Hi everybody, after a few week working on my new home network, I'm back, of course, with a problem. Thanks to everybody who helped me going for a POE solution . My network now is almost ok (VLAN separation is still a desired thing), but so far so good, everything is working fine. The network is made...

Re: Powering simple network - multiple devices at once [SOLVED]

On near all towers I use CRS112-8P-4S as PoE & Switch (never Routing)
And when I need more port I use CRS318-16P-2S+
Thanks, I’ll replace my new CSS610 with a CRS112.

Ubiquiti POE switches are an option, like many unmanaged POE from third parties, but I’d like to keep it simple.

Powering simple network - multiple devices at once [SOLVED]

Hi all, I am considering an upgrade to my home network, and would like to power everything from a single point: One router One switch (CSS610, which I already have) 2 AP I see that new WAPac and the upcoming RB5009 are 802.3 POE in, while CSS610 is passive. RB5009 could be substituted by a RB4011, a...

Could it be that CSS610 is much more 'sensible' to long cable than the router?

Thanks

New user - 610-8G-2S+IN - not working as expected

Hi everybody, I'm a new user, for both MikroTik and this forum. I bought a new 610-8G-2S+IN, just wanted to expand my current, simple, network with few more ethernet ports. I have a VSDL Router (can I say the brand?) connected to my ISP, and this router has also one Extender/AP, on the second floor,...
