hEX S "RB760iGS" to hEX S "RB760iGS" sfp1 vlan trunk.

Mon Apr 22, 2024 12:18 am

Hello all,
New at this. Trying to setup a pair of hEX S RB760iGS units as follows. Both are running 7.14.3 Stable. I have bricked one to the point the only to recover was with a Woobm.
RTR1 sfp1 to RTR2 sfp1 VLAN Tagged trunk port.
RTR1 ether1 to RTR2 ether1 VLAN109_Provider un-tagged access port.
RTR1 ether2 to RTR2 ether2 VLAN110_IoT un-tagged access port.
RTR1 ether3 to RTR2 ether3 VLAN111_IntPUB un-tagged access port.
RTR1 ether4 to RTR2 ether4 float un-tagged access port. possibly used for ether VLAN110 or VLAN111
RTR1 ether5 to RTR2 ether5 VLAN10_Management un-tagged access port.
I have searched, read, viewed many documents and guides most of which are dated to the point I am totally confused. I understand that using the sfp will result in a 1GB hit to the switching fabric but that is not an issue in my application.
If some one could point me to an up to date guide it would be truly appreciated.

You did not specify what you are trying to do (requirements) nor what the actual problem is (besides bricking the device ?) ?
Neither did you show the config which you are trying to apply.

You may want to start with all that, otherwise there is not a lot anyone here can do apart from guessing.

As far as VLAN setup is concerned, this is the de facto guideline around here for that subject:

Concur, where is the internet?
Are they both acting as switches and thus where is the source of all the VLANs, upstream router?
You need to provide context, a network diagram for starters.
