VLAN-Wireless-Switch Hap ac ROS7

Thu Apr 18, 2024 11:50 am

Hello,

Tried different setups, but still I am confused how to do this, as different resources give so many different options that are utterly difficuklt to combine. (VLANs old way, VLANs new way, Bridge VLANs, Switch chip VLANs, ROS 6 VLANs/wireless ROS 7 VLANs / wireless )

Maybe with some help from the forum I can fix.

My Situation to be set up is as follows:
**Hap AC 1
Network 1 connected to port 2 untagged (put it on VLAN 1)
Network 2 connected to port 3 untagged (put it on VLAN 666)
PC 1 to port 4 (untagged on Network 2)

Wifi SSID Alpha (both on 2.4 and 5 GHz) should be on network 1 (so VLAN 1)
Wifi SSID Beta (both on 2.4 and 5 GHz) should be on network 2 (so VLAN 666)

Trunk - Port 5 (vlan 1 and 666) --------+
                                        |
                                        |
**Hap AC 2 |
Trunk - Port 5 (vlan 1 and 666) --------+

PC 2 to port 4 (untagged on Network 2)
PC 3 to port 3 (untagged on network 2)
PC 4 to port 2 (untagged on network 1)

Wifi SSID Alpha (both on 2.4 and 5 GHz) should be on network 1 (so VLAN 1)
Wifi SSID Beta (both on 2.4 and 5 GHz) should be on network 2 (so VLAN 666)
Management of both Hap ac devices should be through network 1 (with a fixed IP# in the network 1 range)
The Hap ac have an integrated switch QCA8337 chip that I want to use and run 7.13 with the new (wave) wifi packages.

I tried a lot of configs, but the confusion is on the combination of using the switch chip and the bridge together for the VLANS in (virtual) wireless
Any examples / hints / tips / clues ??

Thanks in advance for all pointers !
Rudi
