Re: hAP ax lite vs. Hex (750gr3)

It's ARM based so you can run zerotier on it.

And it does have wifi, in case you need it.
2.4GHz only but with a capable client you can reach 400Mbps.

Even more versatile, the LTE version.

It doesn't have a beeper, though

Wireless repeater possibility always has been available.
Station bridge mode, where the same subnet can be extended, has been away for a while.

Probably because of wifiwave2 package, yes.

You can always remove it again.
Reset to default so default firewall is back.
Then add wifiwave2 again and finalize config.

Or use
/system default-configuration print

Re: VLANs on hAP ax2, v7.13, no CAPsMAN - how?

When you go VLAN all-in (as in, no pvid 1 anymore), 2 small things you need to do on each AX cap:

- add vlan itf with pvid = mgmt and attach to bridge
- set discovery itf in caps to that VLAN itf

And then it will work.

When cable is not connected, interface will not work.

As soon as it is connected, the DHCP client will make sure to get an IP address from the router upstream.

Yes, I now see the CAP in CAPSMAN but for some reason the configuration isn't applied. Do I need to define separate configuration for AC and AX?
If your provisioning rules are specific enough so it ends up only using AX, yes you need new rules for AC.

Quick things to check (apart from config as requested by gigabyte091):
- frequency which can not be seen by client device ?
- Security unable to be handled by client device ?
- frequency in DFS range ? Then it can take up to 15 minutes before something is being transmitted.
