IPV6 configuration for Baltcom, LV

Sun Nov 06, 2022 8:52 pm

Hello!

Does Baltkom, Latvian ISP, provide IPV6 for home users?
Most guides for configuration are the same in the internet, but nothing works…
Using ROS 7.6.

Better call to your provider support and ask, this is mikrotik devices forum, but not provider.
I dont know providers who give ipv6 by default, this is option in most cases.

IPv6 can be provided with RA, or in manual mode (provider send you ipv6 adrreses alloved to use).

Baltcom doesn`t give ipv6 to clients. Balticom also. I`m using sit tunnel to Hurricane Electric.

But found that LMT already started to give.

It will depend on the country. In many countries, when you do not have IPv6 you are considered to be backward.

Here it usually is done by DHCPv6 prefix delegation.

Its depends from country. In Ukraine even LTE, 3G providers give ipv6 to the client phones by default.

When it is normal in Latvia not to get IPv6, maybe it explains the lag of IPv6 features in RouterOS?
"no client ever asks for it" was the standard reply when asking...
In v7 things are moving forward, but by far not everything is implemented and working yet.
